We had a Canvas page, which is NOT a class website. So, I'm going to say that I did not actually do this.
2. Create a class YouTube channel.
I used YouTube in a different and new way other than how I had used it previously, so I'm going to say that I show evidence of professional growth on this but I did not actually do this.
3. Create a class Twitter account and make international connections.
Stout Nation was so happy to present SO MANY student reporters! In fact, our Student Reporter model is being used as part of a presentation in Austin in Summer 2017 to show new domains of how to connect learning to home and synthesize what happened during the day.
4. Get your students blogging.
This is something I wanted to try for 2017-2018, but I won't be in the classroom. I'm dying to do a micro blog and I feel like that would be something really cool to do! So...this is a developing goal.
5. Find other classes to collaborate with on projects.
I definitely did not do this.
6. Do Mystery Skypes/Google Hangouts.
I actually had to google what a Mystery Skype was, and it sounds so FASCINATING! I wish I would have done this, but alas, I did not.
7. Invite expert guests via live video conferencing.
I definitely did this! I'm so proud that we had our friend, Nathan Madsen, into Stout Nation to talk about how he composes music for video games. The kids were still talking about it several months later!
8. Do coding with your students.
My school offered this opportunity, but I did not have a hand in it. So, I didn't complete this goal but my school did.
9. Do Genius Hour with your students.
My school offered this opportunity, but I did not have a hand in it. So, I didn't complete this goal but my school did.
10. Gamify your classroom.
I informally gamified my classroom and gave out points that led to nothing. We also had free lives, power packs, and other various game-like aspects while we were learning. Experience: +50.
11. Try to go paperless.
Absolutely! I was so happy how much I was able to go paperless, mostly because I had so many parents who had the resources to be connected to our programs and events via internet access. I couldn't have gone as paperless as I had if that had not been a resource.
12. Create digital student portfolios.
I did this with our recorder units in 2015-2016, but did not do it in 2016-2017. After some reflective practice, I didn't like how I did it in 2016-2017 and I couldn't brainstorm enough changed options for how I could implement it for 2016-2017.
13. Automate quizzes with Google Forms.
When appropriate, I definitely did this.
14. Use Google forms for student check-ins and exit tickets.
I never did this.
15. Let your students use their devices in class.
I absolutely did this! And I got so frustrated at parental locks that I wrote a couple of grants and added some wish list items to our fabulous PTA and wound up having 1:1 devices.
