Meet the Team
Virginia Stout, Captain: Virginia has been in Texas education since 2005. She is a proud Horned Frog from Texas Christian University and went on to get her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston - Clear Lake. Her dissertation, named Dudley, researched the influence of integrated leadership on Title I National Blue Ribbon Elementary Schools in 2012. Virginia frequently uses Dudley's title as a facial muscle warm-up.
Adam Stout, General Manager: Adam has been married to Virginia since 2014, but has been the general manager of her team since 2008. He negotiates contracts (like who takes out the trash), conducts legal analysis (like washing instructions on clothing tags), negotiates trades (like the number of times he can eat Taco Bell in a month), and oversees all functions of Stout Nation (like entertainment choices). On his days off from serving Stout Nation as General Manager, he is a freelance pianist known world-wide as a piano-bar entertainer and musical director for musical theatre productions.
Miss Heather D, Support Services: Heather D provides technical support to Virginia by showing her neat blog posts and telling her that Twitter is a real thing. And she tells Virginia what the proper past-tense of Twitter vocabulary should be, because that's really tough. Miss Heather D also drives like Mario Andretti.
Oscar Stout, Mascot: Oscar has enjoyed being the primary mascot of Team Stout since 2011. He came on the scene as a secondary mascot but was promoted to primary mascot in 2013 after an intense training camp experience. He enjoys playing with toys and warming Virginia's feet while she types. He does not enjoy anyone else touching his toys or trying to warm Virginia's feet while she types.
Amaryllis Stout, Head Cheerleader: As expected, Amaryllis is always happy to see Stout Nation! While she might take a hot second to warm up to new members of the Nation, she will always be glad to let you win over her heart. Amaryllis enjoys playing with her brother and eating lots of food. She does not enjoy being surprised.
Lucille Stout, Resident Koala: Lucille has been the resident koala of Stout Nation since 2004. She was adopted by Virginia while Virginia was a student at TCU. She is actually a stuffed animal, but she believes that she is a real koala. Stout Nation students enjoy hearing about her antics, having her visit their classes, and learning about concert etiquette from her mishaps.
