These tv trays have been the teething surfaces for three of the Neely-Stout puppy pack members and they were starting to show some serious wear. My vision for the project was to make something look better and to make it very personal to our family. I came up with the idea to use four different zip codes (one for each tray) to represent important places in our lives: where I grew up, where Adam grew up, where we were married, and where we lived in our first house together.
I fired up my computer and picked out a good looking font for my numbers and city/state locations. I picked out a pretty wrapping paper from a local store, traced the numbers and locations, and cut out the items using regular old scissors. No fancy cutting tools for this gal!
I sanded them with fine sandpaper and then I got them primed and ready for their first coat of paint!
