I've had a week of reflection and rest, so I feel confident that my identified personal strengths and personal opportunities are spot on.
Strengths:
- I am proud of how often I am in classrooms and catch the pulse of the environment. I vary the classrooms I visit based on a rolling rotation I've developed. Having the rolling rotation helps me to be sure and see every teacher on campus every three weeks--even if they aren't in my assigned grade level or on my assigned appraisal list. I'm also proud of the content level plannings I attend and the conversations that I help facilitate with our amazing professionals.
- I have made LOTS of positive phone calls this semester. While I don't have every classroom complete, I am very nearly complete on several rosters--CONFETTI CANNONS! I love catching the great things our students do!
- My digital phone log is rockin' and rollin'. I have been able to reference it several times when looking up information about contact history. Thanks, GOOGLE FORMS! I also enjoy sending a notification of a positive phone call to the teachers of the student. Again, a shout out to GOOGLE FORMS!
- There have been ample conversations that -- five years ago -- I would've walked away from a touch unsteady. I can absolutely feel that my professional leadership skeletal frame has taken shape and is serving my campus well.
Opportunities:
- I want to regularly leave campus before 6 PM every night, unless there is a night activity. My time management is spot-on: people first, paper later. The way I can leave before 6 PM is to be sure and utilize all the players on the team to their max potential.
- I want to polish my lens of intention. I like using the image of holding up a kaleidoscope and shifting the view when I need an adjustment to my perspective. I want to be able to figuratively twist my kaleidoscope to show me a view of a situation where the folks involved have approached their decisions with the best of intentions. This is a natural bright spot to my personality and leadership approach, and I think it can easily dim as challenges begin to stack themselves like dominos in the spring semester.
- I want to continue to thoroughly enjoy a monthly professional development in which I am enrolled. I absolutely love the feeling I have every month as I leave our time together, and I want to strengthen the professional relationships with the other participants. They are a FANTASTIC group of leaders.
Here's to a great Spring 2023! Let's do this!
